May Roundup

We took a trip to Orlando the weekend of the 22nd.  That place is spread out, and it takes a long time to get anywhere, since there are thousands of traffic lights.  But they have a Golden Corral, which is officially the King of Restaurants.  No matter what unhealthy food you’re craving, they have it.  This coming weekend promises beach excitement!

We went to St. Augustine on Sunday, May 16.  It was such a good time.  We walked around the town, ate some lunch, visited a church, a college and a I got to hear an organ-grinder playing some peppy music.  Then we went to the beach and I enjoyed the tall waves.  Bear in mind that I am from Florida, and waves don’t get much over two feet on the Gulf of Mexico.  The Atlantic Ocean has some better surf, and, though I was only swimming, it was still fun.  We didn’t get to the beach, though, until four o’clock, so we missed most of the sun.  But after an hour we had the place mostly to ourselves.  I think we will go back Memorial Day weekend.

I just added the Rock! page where you can read about what rock music I like.  There are lists there of my favorite albums and songs.

I cut my hair again.  Several years ago I bought a set of Oster clippers for $20 thinking I could give myself haircuts and save money.  Countless haircuts later I would say it was a good investment.  The style? Well, that’s so-so.

I suffered a soft drink related calamity last week.  I always carry a back pack with me, even though I don’t use it for much except to hold my phone, some CDs, lots of junk mail and a soda.  I took the bag out of the car and put it on to go into work, and I noticed my shoulder was wet, and smelled like oranges.  It took me a second to realize what had happened.  My orange soda had been punctured and all twelve fluid ounces had spilled into one chamber of my bag, saturating many papers.  Fortunately, my CDs and photographic negatives were not harmed, but it was quite a mess.

Well, it’s officially hot again.  Going outside today was unpleasant.  It didn’t help that I was wearing a sixty percent polyester shirt, either.  But I suppose I should get used to it, because it will just get hotter, and stay hot until October.

I just got finished watching The Hulk.  Not very good, I’m sorry to say.  It looked more like a cartoon than a movie.  I don’t think I would watch it again.

I recently added the handy index that you now see at the top of this page. It’ll take you anywhere you want to go.  Except off this website.

I was just looking around for some images of cereal boxes, and I came across the coolest website: Cereal Box Archive has photos of all the cereals you loved as a kid.  I even found my favorite, Kellogg’s OJ’s.   That was a dang fine cereal.  I still have a lot to look at on this site, so I will write more later.

A Visit from Sandi

We had a visitor from out of town April 23 and 24.  Sandi proved to be the ideal guest.  She didn’t make any messes, she slept quietly, and she even put her bowl in the dishwasher after enjoying breakfast.  Come back any time.

I have somehow moved to the top of the list if you search Google for my full name.  This is surprising, because I don’t think anyone is really paying attention to this site.

The confederate jasmine is blooming on campus, and, being as the olfactory sense has the best recall, I have been flooded with memories lately of times at my grandmother’s house in St. Petersburg.

I think I am going to add a section to the website soon called “Axis of Evil” where I will list my enemies, how they have wronged me, and how I ultimately defeated them.  The need for this new page occurred to me recently when an Amazon.com zShops seller tried to rip me off.  Certainly I got my revenge, but I need an outlet to shame them.
