August News, Part One

A while back I watched Logan’s Run, which I had never seen before. It was wonderful. It was exactly the kind of movie I like. It had adventure, action, a simple plot, silly costumes, and a pretty girl. But, by far, the best character in the film was Box, a robot who captures and freezes anyone who escapes from the city in an attempt to save themselves from certain doom at age thirty. Evidently, box likes “fish, plankton, sea greens, and protein from the sea”. You the man, Box.

Miriam and went to see Spider Man 2 on Saturday, July 31. It was freakin’ great. Actually better than the first. We had planned to see Harry Potter, but, amazingly, it was no longer showing in any Gainesville theater. It was released the first week of June and made huge money, apparently, but I guess theaters needed to continue to hold space for White Chicks, so it’s gone.

Sandi’s idea is to go to the northern Georgia mountains in December and stay in a rented cabin. This was something Miriam and I were hoping to do a while back, but never organized enough people for. If your name is Dan or Steve, you should seriously consider taking a trip to the beautiful, hopefully snow-covered mountains of north Georgia.

I’m getting pretty sick of the mindless Bush drones who appear daily on television news programs to spew their “talking points”, which is just another way to say “repetitive lies”. John Kerry is NOT the most liberal member of the senate. John Edwards is NOT the fourth most liberal member of the senate. These are absurd distortions. See Media Matters for more. Also, check out the Daily Howler. These two sites document Republicans’ lies, and set the story straight. The so-called “liberal media” seem to have no interest in doing so.
