So Long, Chalky!

Chalky and Her New MommyChalky, the cat Miriam rescued from abusive flea market people, enjoyed a week at our house, living in the spare room where I keep my CD collection. We spent as much time with her as we could, but we couldn’t allow her to run about the house, because, without knowing her medical history in detail, she might have posed a health risk to Moggie. And, had we not had Moggie already, we surely would have kept Chalky, since she’s such a loving kitty.

But now someone else can bask in Chalky’s love, because, thanks to Briana, Chalky found a new home, and it’s proof positive the world is a small place. Evidently, Briana was chatting with a friend a while back who said something to the effect that she used to know a fellow named Dana who loved opera. That’s funny…Briana, too, has a friend named Dana who loves opera. It turns out that Briana was talking to an old friend of mine from the days when I lived in (the appropriately named) Boot Ranch and managed a dry cleaners. I remember her as being a nice person with a great sense of humor, so I was delighted to learn that she was interested in adopting Chalky.

Kate and Briana came over last Thursday night and now Chalky has a new life in–if I recall correctly–Wesley Chapel. I hope it’s a happy life.
