I Smell Scandal
Prices for oil took their biggest leap ever today, to $138.54. Gas is already well over $4/gallon at most stations in Gainesville; $25 put only a half a tank in our Beetle a few nights ago. These high fuel prices are making everything we buy more expensive.
I have no proof, but I am making a prediction: these high oil prices are a scandal waiting to be uncovered, quite like the high energy prices in California in 2000.

Like maybe S.3036 otherwise known as the Lieberman-Warner bill, or Al Gores plan to profit on it by brokering Carbon credits with his new company GIM, or the democratic house and senate blocking any further exploration on our own land and shores while China and India drill 50 miles off Key West? But don’t let the dems have all the credit, there’s the Bush’s cozy relationship with the Saudis and don’t forget their holdings in the Carlisle group. I’m gonna get a pitchfork and a torch and, no maybe I’ll just piss in one hand and hope in the other and see which one fills up first.
