I saw this in my inbox from NY Times alert and thought that you’d be happy. Is it baseball? I don’t even know. Sports make me think of Sunday afternoons when my dad wouldn’t let anyone watch anything else on TV.

Yes, the Rays are in the American League–as are the Minnesota Twins–but have been the worst team in baseball since they started ten years ago. Somehow, this year, out of the blue, they got good, and will play in the World Series.
I am not generally a fan of sports (I’ve never been to a University of Florida football game, for instance), but I do like the game–not the business–of baseball. Plus, I’m from St. Petersburg where the Rays play, and to think of the World Series being played a few miles from the house I lived in is neat.
